Wacha on thin ice. Not fooling anyone over there. Especially the top of the lineup. But Fowler led off the comeback charge.

Harrison Bader went 0-for-3 on Friday and is 2-for-20 this spring.

Bader is such an outstanding defender in center field that he shouldn't have too much to worry about as far as playing time, even if he lacks the offensive potential of Tyler O'Neill. He's not a great bet for fantasy purposes while hitting at the bottom of the Cardinals lineup.

Michael Wacha allowed a pair of solo homers over four innings in the Cardinals' 3-2 win over the Nationals on Friday.

Wacha allowed six hits, but only the back-to-back homers from Matt Adams and Jake Noll in the first inning did any damage. Wacha, who will occupy a spot in the middle of the Cardinals rotation, has allowed three runs in nine innings this spring.

Bader has hit a few rockets that took some great D to turn into outs. Should've had a few rbi's there too.

Matt Carpenter smacked his third Grapefruit League home run on Friday, helping to lead the Cardinals to a 6-3 victory over the Astros.

Carpenter tagged Forrest Whitley for the solo shot in the fifth inning, extending the Cardinals' edge to 4-0. The 33-year-old drew a walk in Friday's game as well, finishing the night 1-for-3. On the spring, he's hitting .267 (4-for-15) with three long balls, four RBI and a stolen base.

Dylan Carlson went 1-for-3 and drove in two runs on Friday as the Cardinals bested the Astros in Grapefruit League play.

The 20-year-old outfielder delivered an RBI double off of Will Harris in the fourth inning, increasing the Cardinals' lead to 3-0. He also drew a walk in the contest. For the spring, he's hitting just .217 (5-for-23) with three runs scored and two RBI.

Andrew Knizner went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI as the Cardinals topped the Astros in Grapefruit League play on Friday night.

Knizner got the Cardinals on the board first with a run-scoring single in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old backstop is off to a nice start in Grapefruit League play, hitting .294 (5-for-17) with three runs scored and two RBI.

Dakota Hudson delivered another masterful Grapefruit League start on Friday, limiting the Astros to only one hit over four shutout innings.

The right-hander racked up four strikeouts in the process and didn't walk a batter. While the initial plan was to have Hudson work out of the bullpen again this season, with each passing start the likelihood of him sticking in the starting rotation seems to increase. He now owns a 2.35 ERA and 0.78 WHIP while striking out six in 7 2/3 innings in Grapefruit League play.
