Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge left Saturday's game against the Royals in the bottom of the sixth inning with a left oblique injury and will head to New York-Presbyterian Hospital for further evaluation and an MRI.

After hitting a single, Judge winced on a swing and was in discomfort as he ran to first base, where he was met by the trainer and removed from the game for pinch-runner Tyler Wade.

Gio Gonzalez will opt out of his contract with the Yankees, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

New York will have 48 hours to either add him to the roster or grant him his release. If Gonzalez is added, he’ll earn a $3 million base salary, plus $300,000 per start.

Gonzalez has changed agents, leaving longtime rep Scott Boras in favor of CAA, according to sources. Gonzalez signed a Minor League contract with the Yankees on March 19 after more than four months of free agency left him still without a team.

After 74 days of battling through injuries, Francisco Lindor is back.

The Indians announced Saturday afternoon that the All-Star shortstop has been activated off the 10-day injured list prior to the team’s doubleheader against the Braves, and he's expected to be in the lineup for Game 2. In a corresponding move, designated hitter Hanley Ramirez was designated for assignment

Boston's rotation took another hit on Saturday, when Nathan Eovaldi was placed on the 10-day injured list after an MRI revealed a loose body in his right elbow.

Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said there was a “definitely a chance” Eovaldi would need surgery, but he cautioned that there are various methods of treatment for the ailment. Eovaldi will be re-evaluated Monday after his appointment in New York with Dr. Christopher Ahmad, who operated on the starter’s elbow and forearm in 2016.

Albert Pujols went 2-for-5 with a solo homer, double and a pair of RBI in the Angels’ loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

Pujols plated a run with a double into the left-field corner off Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi in the third inning. He also slugged a solo homer, his third long ball of the season, off Mariners interim closer Anthony Swarzak in the ninth. The future Hall of Famer is only seven away from 2,000 RBI for his career and could pass Lou Gehrig and Barry Bonds (1,996 and 1,997 RBI, respectively) on the all-time list in the next few days.
