Wasn't Jose Martinez part of those discussions back then?......not sure I'd like this deal, unless the Giants add to it.

Re: Trade Rumors - Cardinals Edition
i'm just not sure how much a reliever helps us unless they plan on moving c-mart back to the rotation, which even if they did, its not a sure thing.
the only way a move like this would make sense is if they are including bumgarner. way too pricey prospect wise.
but then again, i say that, and they will both go to the cubs for a couple of prospects outside their top 25.

don't see Mo trading for a guy who's gonna be a FA; loves him some control
i could see it, if we were rolling/like a team that could make noise in the post season....with this team? what's the point?

This ain't going to happen. The Cardinals trade for prospects who punch television sets.

If the price for Will Smith is a Connor Jones level prospect, Mo would consider. Depends on the record at the deadline.

Re: Trade Rumors - Cardinals Edition
Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch suspects that the Cardinals might try to trade Michael Wacha before the July 31 deadline.
Wacha has lost his spot in the Cardinals' starting rotation yet again -- this time to Daniel Ponce de Leon -- and he is due to become a free agent in the offseason. The question is what St. Louis would be able to get in return for the 28-year-old right-hander, who has struggled to a 5.54 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 76 1/3 innings (14 starts, two relief appearances) here in 2019. Wacha was a postseason hero back in 2013 at age 22, but injuries have derailed what should have been a great career.
