We have 51 games left. Long way to go. We are right in the thick things. Enjoy the nightly meaningful games.

I appreciate the optimism, but there's a reason we're getting our asses kicked by good competition - there's a massive gulf between the Cardinals and the teams that matter this year. Hell, we're lucky we even squeaked one out against the Astros.

I'm actually 100% on board with what phins said. I think the front office sized the situation up at the trade deadline and (correctly) determined it just wasn't worth it this year.

Will be a fun offseason for Mo.

This GDT sucks.

Compared to this game; this GDT was awesome.

I think it's a lot simpler than that.

The front office wasn't trading Carlson or Gorman for Ray or Minor, and they weren't trading Bader or O'Neill for Wheeler.

Everyone else was on the table, but other teams didn't have interest.

And that's the issue that needs to be addressed. We need better players on the farm. Right now it's a 2 man show.

Gotta clear space on the 40 man so we can not call up potentially good players.

Don't you know there's a 12-D chess reason Mo does this?

You're wont to take that view with the current front office, and that's fine. If you buy this rationale though (and I'm not saying it's a bad rationale per se), you have to accept that Mo knew he was sentencing his team to a much, much, much harder road to the playoffs and willingly chose to go this route. Our rotation is extremely shaky at best, so to double down on someone like Michael Wacha who has been objectively awful is ... a choice.

We'll see. Mo is reaping what he's sowed, though.

I applaud Mo for not trading Carlson or Gorman. He should be fired if he did.

Prospect hoarding has a large role to play in our franchise's current malaise. Not saying those two needed to be shipped out thoughtlessly, but if Mo should be fired, it's because the MLB team is a hot mess.
