I agree there's no point in getting rid of him. Don't forget that someone like Chris Carpenter had an ERA+ under 100 before his age 29 season.

Talent like Reyes is always worth waiting on because the rewards are so high and the costs so low.

I think that's what cracks me up the most about so many of the Cardinals decisions. Arozorena is 1,000% a flash in the pan (raking and could be a 4/5 OF), but god forbid you squeeze out Justin Williams, Rangel Ravelo, Adolis Garcia or Ramon Urias for him.

I guess I should have created an option for "settles in as bullpen arm that is constantly besot with injuries."

And yeah, I won't be shocked if he's non-tendered this offseason.

Ugh, I dunno

Gonna turn 29 next season and had shoulder surgery that kept him out all year

But with all the time and effort the cards have put into him for soooo damn long, it’s just tough to see them non tender him though

His obvious comp, Felix Hernandez, had a cy young and 6 all star appearances when he was 29. Huge bummer because he had the tools. Feel for the guy. Would suck knowing you had the talent to be elite and make elite money but your body betrayed you at every step of the way.
