That Austin Meadows/Glasnow for Archer trade is just...man. Ow. Sorry, Pirates fan posters that hang out here.
So eventually this could turn out to be even worse than it already is if that kid turns into a good pitcher.

my thoughts on this game and lineup using only suggested words by Siri:
The Best has come to the end.
We are going to have to get some more money.
We are just not going to make it.
I don’t think we can do this because we don’t have any idea.
The Cards have been so much better than this.
Even Siri is pessimistic.

Can anyone think of anything comparable to the Tommy Edman/Lane Thomas/Randy Arozarena situation we have right now in recent Cards history? A player that consistently started out of position over another, more qualified player, all while keeping a potentially dynamic player off the roster?
I can’t think of any examples off the top of my head, unless there were big salary implications.

Not quite similar but reminds me of them putting Wong in CF/LF in 2016 a bunch while Pham was OPSing .901 just to get Jedd Gyorko/Moss/Adams (puke) bat in the lineup regularly. I know Wong was still a player they had high hopes for and Edman isn't, but that's all that's coming to mind. While having Carpenter play 2B at times too... 2016 was just a [expletive]-show of a year with guys out of position.Fat Strat wrote:Can anyone think of anything comparable to the Tommy Edman/Lane Thomas/Randy Arozarena situation we have right now in recent Cards history? A fun game is trying to find the statistical edge or angle Mo and Shildt seem to be going after. I usually assume splits but maybe there are other scouting factors?

I'm looking forward to Dan McLaughlin's mid-game chatter with Ricky Horton about Tommy Edman's weekly conversations with Aaron Miles.

Bases loaded w nobody out. And 6-4-3. Amazingly consistent.

There was the year we tried to make Skip Schumacher a second baseman.Fat Strat wrote:Can anyone think of anything comparable to the Tommy Edman/Lane Thomas/Randy Arozarena situation we have right now in recent Cards history?
