This is the resurgence we needed at the deadline. The Reds are a different team.

This team, as a whole, just has a poor approach at the plate. Firing the hitting coach may help resolve part of the problem, but in the end, these guys seem like they are going up to the plate guessing....and that's on the players. Do they not have scouting reports on every opposing pitcher for the most part? Do they not know what types of pitches to anticipate from certain guys? It's as if their mental preparation before virtually every at-bat pretty much sucks....and it seems to be contagious.
And our two best hitters have been beyond awful thus far tonight....staring at meat balls in the middle of the plate and then waving at pitches that are a foot off the plate.

They appear to heavily invest in the pitcher attacking them with x-y-z; in that order. If the pitcher decides to switch that to y-z-x in the 2nd inning; we're striking out 10+ times.stormspencer wrote:This team, as a whole, just has a poor approach at the plate. They lost by the one run that scored because the defense was foolishly trying to preserve a shutout.
