Hopefully the Padres will prove to be Darvish's lament.

Up to this point the Indians have played an astonishing 53 games against teams that are at least 30 games under .500 and 55 games against teams that are over .500 at all.

To compare, the Athletics have played 24 games against teams at least 30 games under .500 and 61 games against teams that are over .500 at all.

The AL Central being historically bad is allowing the Indians' window to compete to stay open. The parity in the American League is gross.
These 2 teams are competing for the same playoff spot yet one of them plays TWENTY NINE MORE GAMES AGAINST TEAMS THAT ARE 30 GAMES UNDER .500 THAN THE OTHER TEAM.

The Indians have played 147 games, which means that 36% of their games have been against teams that are at least 30 games under .500. Just think about that. Imagine playing one of the worst teams in baseball 1 in every 3 series.

It does feel like we play the Pirates a lot.

Don't look now, but the Brewers and Cubs are tied. That Dbacks surge was short-lived.
