Memphis' game was called after their third rain delay up 14-3 against New Orleans with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th. Mike Parisi made his AAA debut giving up 1 run (unearned) over 5 innings. Kelvin Jimenez gave up his first runs of the year giving up 2 runs over 2 innings; but with that score and rain in the area, one would presume he was pitching to contact in order to get outs. Brendan Ryan and Edgar Gonzalez are 3 for 5, Rick Ankiel is 3 for 4 with a 3 run homer. Travis Hanson is apparently not washed up yet – he went 2 for 3 with a walk and an rbi. Let’s hope that is the start of a resurgence for him. Box Log
Springfield won a wild one 11-9 in Frisco. Cory Rauschenberger gave up 6 runs in only 2/3 of an inning. In fairness, this is the second time in a row he had to make an unexpected start. After that, the bullpen pitched reasonably well. Chris Perez picked up 2 Ks and a save in the 9th. Joe Mather was 3 for 4 with a homerun, Bryan Anderson was also 3 for 4 with a double, and Tyler Greene was 2 for 3 with 2 walks. Box Log
Palm Beach had a big night winning 14-1 against St. Lucie. Gary Daley pitched 4 and 2/3 scoreless innings. I’m not sure why he was pulled so early. Nick Webber had another scoreless outing. Allen Craig was 3 for 5 with a triple. Speedy outfielder Sean Danielson was 4 for 5 with a double. Jose Martinez was 2 for 4 with a double. Box Log
Quad Cities won 6-0 against Cedar Rapids. Blake King pitched 5 scoreless innings with 4 Ks. Second starter Brandon Dickson pitched 4 innings. Brandon Buckman, a big first baseman drafted in the 19th round last year, was 2 for 4. Both hits were homers, and he is hitting .316 so far this year. Daryl Jones was 1 for 4. Box Log

Blake King continues to impress, he might be a real good one... Rasmus is off to a slow start but hes done that at every level since he was drafted. He should start to adjust and really start to rake... And how about Joe Mather, this kid can really hit the ball. I wonder if they have any plans to move him from 1st, maybe to a corner outfield spot? The only thing going against him is hes 24 yrs old... Another guy who is off to a good start is the former 2nd round pick Mike Ferris who has been tearing the cover off the ball for Palm Beach, he had 5 rbi's last night...
