I still can't believe this Harvey guy hasn't been taken. Doesn't your value drop somewhat after the 80th pick??

ToughGuy_BlueShirt wrote:I'm starting to get sick of the money issue crap. Baseball isn't cheap, why try to compete if you don't want to pay for anyone? If you get good players, you're going to have to pay them. So you and the Cardinals rather draft mediocre players because they cost less and let the big time prospects go to the teams that will pay for big talent.
He dropped to what -- #28?

How many other teams' fans do you think are playing the "god we're cheap" card?

Edit: and the font thing is a lame fad that I won't take part in.
How many other teams' fans have this article posted about their owner?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/w ... index.html
How many teams have a payroll nearing $100 million?
Well, since the Cardinals are at 90 mil, I'm going to take "nearing" from you to mean at least 88 then. And in that case half of the major leagues. 15. http://blog.sportscolumn.com/story/2007/4/9/1367/60158/
DeWitt says we're closer to $96 million.
Exactly, it's who you want to believe. I really don't want to believe Dewitt.
Of course you don't. Because everything is a conspiracy.
You said it not me.

Yep, not trusting your owner on the payroll is such a huge conspiracy.

Give me a break.

All I'm saying is that calling the Cards cheap is, in my opinion, one of the most tiresome, inaccurate and overblown notions that I've heard surrounding the club during the past few years.

FWIW, the Cardinals guaranteed money is $90M this year. $8M deferred and over $10M more in incentives and bonuses.

Can anyone get the Mortensen video to work?

I'm having to click things several times before they open.
