10. Robert Stock, C

A couple of years ago Goold left Jones out of the Top Thirty, and I don't think he learned his lesson. That is to say, I'd trade Blake Hawksworth or Allen Craig for Bryan Anderson or Pete Kozma.

Isn't that BA's Top 10, and not Goold's?

IIRC, Goold submits the list to BA.

No worries guys. If Z gives us a bad start, we still have Randy Wells, Tom Gorzelanny and Carlos Silva ready to go later in the week. That's the beauty of having a rotation that goes 5 deep.

He collaborates with a couple others to compile the list I think.

With all due respect to Goold, if that's how they construct the list, they just lost a ton of merit in my eyes. I thought those things were constructed from feedback from scouts, front office execs, and player personnel industry insiders. Not guys like Derrick Goold.

In the article, he phrases it as he "helped."

BA has their people rate players etc. and then a beat writer from each team helps them compile the actual list. At least that is how I was led to believe the list was formed.

I read that Leroy had a role in compiling the top ten.

Just seven Jack. I find that using nice round numbers is completely capricious and arbitary.
