Last night: 2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, BB.

17-for-27 in his last six games and up to .348/.387/.668 on the season.

At a certain point, being a fattypants 1B is gonna cease to matter. The guy can rake.

Yeah, Adams is an interesting player.

One one hand, he's tearing the cover off of the ball. You can't ignore that.

On the other hand, he's morbidly obese and has no plate discipline. You can't ignore that either.

I don't see why it is impossible to put this guy on some sort of diet/program to get his weight down.

If the cards are serious about keeping him around or he is serious about his career, then there shouldn't be any problem.

Take a look at Pablo Sandoval--he was big as a walrus but managed to shave ~30 lbs in the offseason. Granted, he's much more athletic so his weight wasn't MUCH of an issue, but still if he can do it, I don't see why Adams can't.

Pablo should get fat again. It seemed to help.

He lost around 40 pounds from last year to this year. His OPS went up 172 points before he hit the DL. Your comment, respectfully, is:

1. wrong
2. not germane to the discussion or advancing it in really any way

He's hardly morbidly obese, though he could certainly lose weight. If Prince Fielder and Pablo Sandoval can play, I don't see why Adams couldn't if he keeps hitting like he is.

Because they're athletic. The only baseball skill Adams has is bat swinging.

Fatty McButterpants homered in Shelby's AA debut.

Straight smoked it to the opposite field. Corpus Christi TV guy: "I don't know if that guy is homo sapien."
