We had identical regular season records though. Not sure what the tiebreaker was.

Why is this thread hidden in the Minor League forum?
Anyway, Rob Neyer on the Cardinals' 2009 draft

As Luhnow told me, “We were excited about Shelby Miller. The backup plan was Mike Trout.”

Re: 2014 Draft
We drafted a right-handed version of Marco Gonzales in Luke Weaver.
6-2, 170 and athletic. Four average pitches, plus polish and solid command. He'll move quick but really limited upside.
Good part is he has a very high chance of making the bigs.

Re: 2014 Draft
I called Jack Flaherty to the room!
He wants a monster bonus to buy him out of UNC, but this kid has monster upside.

Re: 2014 Draft
This is why I keep myself a little better under control during these things nowadays. It's a puzzle and not just a series of individual picks.
We'll take some Seniors to make up the money, but this Flaherty picks is a good one.

Re: 2014 Draft
For those that want to follow the signings, I've created a draft signing tracker and a draft pool tracker. All of the Cardinal picks are listed (and the rest of the teams are being added). I'll be starting individual team recaps this week; I'll be going in draft order, so the Cardinals will be towards the end.
