Cards have also signed RHP Alvaro Seijas (#11 international prospect) for $762,500 and SS Rafy Ozuna for $600k.

I have the July 2nd stuff, but man, if you think scouting high school players is hard, try scouting 15 year olds who play extremely uneven comp. in a foreign country with corrupt handlers trying to conceal everything they can to preserve their own self-interests.

#cardinals have agreement in place with 12th rounder RHP Jacob Schlesener. Over slot, pending physical. Had commit to #razorbacks #stlcArds

Re: 2015 MLB Draft
so is the initial general consensus that we have a lot of offensive upside in our draft class this year?

For the most part, yes. Plummer is a hitter with an advanced approach at the plate, and a nice swing path. He's an extreme on the risk scale though, especially now that he's an OF'er in the pros.go birds wrote:so is the initial general consensus that we have a lot of offensive upside in our draft class this year?
Bryce Denton might honestly have the highest ceiling of the position players we drafted, with a bunch of pop and a chance to stick at 3B.
Paul DeJong is an advanced hitter with some thump. I wonder about plate discipline at the higher levels and if he can handle advanced velocity as he goes up the chain, but he'll mash until he gets to AA most likely.
Harrison Bader is fairly body beautiful and has an advanced approach. Limited to LF, he will need to hit a ton to be a regular.
Chris Chinea is a nice college stick, who is still only 21 and has an outside chance to stick at C. He's probably a 1B type, which will severly limit his upside, if so.
Kep Brown isn't signing, Brusa isn't signing, Granier isn't signing, we will see on Merrill, but I doubt he signs.
That's a pretty nice group of diverse skillsets and upside.

Re: 2015 MLB Draft
Anytime you get a lefty who throws 92-93 you have to be excited. Long way to go in command, polish, also needs to clean up the breaking ball. Great frame, projection in his arm, and a lefty to boot.Jocephus wrote:Derrick Goold @dgoold 40m40 minutes ago
