Flaherty as of May 18: 31IP/5.97 ERA
What's the deal? Anyone with any insight? 29K's/12BB/2HR in 31 IP - that seems solid. Just lots of hits against.

Flaherty had one really terrible start on April 19th. Without that game, his ERA would be 4.02 instead of 5.97.
He is pitching today.

Thanks pads. That's encouraging. I saw the periphs and nothing jumped out.
How about Gomber? I'm telling you the guy is the sleeper in the organization.

Flaherty pitched well in his last start but ran into trouble in the 7th, which skewed the overall line. He had struck out two to begin that inning, giving him a 6-2/3 innings, 2 R, 6 K, 1 BB line before he lost it, giving up a walk and single and then reliever after him cratered.
I like Gomber, but haven't seen him. Being a 6'5 lefty that is your staff workhorse is really nice and he doesn't allow any base-runners. His 2015 WHIP of 0.970 was the only sub-1.000 mark among all of our prospects and he is at it again this year with a WHIP of 1.091.

I saw Gomber pitch once in the Midwest league playoffs. He looked legit.

5.08 ERA 3.15 FIP. Peripherals are very similar to the last couple years. .366 BABIP against and an eye poppingly low 58.9% strand rate. He will improve.

Flaherty continues to put his tough start behind him.
