Really surprising that Flaherty is outside of the top 10.

I think it's indicative of where we are as an organization. Do you value proximity to the majors? Or a high ceiling? Low floor? We have a little bit of everything. So, you can go several different ways if you want. But, like with Kelly in Sickel's list, the fact that Flaherty is outside of the top 10 shows how strong and deep our system is. Flaherty and Kelly are without question really good prospects.
We're about to have one of the best systems in baseball again and we might have the strongest group of boom or bust talent that we've ever had. (And there's some really solid high floor guys sprinkled in, too.)

I think a lot of other organizations disagree that the system is that strong and deep. If you believe the reports, teams don't seem to value the team's prospects as much as the team does outside of Reyes.Fat Strat wrote:I think it's indicative of where we are as an organization. the only name i would question is Sosa. Not really sure what the appeal is there. I dont have any problem with any of the other names.
Perez is drawing lindor comparisons. I would be ecstatic with that.
Alvarez at 10 is a bit of a surprise, but he is a name that's starting to pop up everywhere. I hadn't even heard of him til last year.

Goold fielded some questions about the list. Hudson is up there because of high floor. Flaherty just got jumped on depth because he didn't have As good a year as the rest. Delvin a Correa\Lindor clone with less defensive WoW and less pop at the plate.

Lol. A Correa lindor clone with less pop and less defense isn't in the top 5, possibly not even in the top 10.... Depending on how much less.
