Dylan Carlson got a pretty aggressive assignment for a young 18 year old this year in Peoria. His splits by month so far...

April: .175/.324./.351 .675 OPS, 97 wRC+
May: .213/.341/.267 .607 OPS, 83 wRC+
June: .311/.382/.475 .858 OPS, 143 wRC+

Plus two more hits last night. He walks a good bit and the strikeouts are dropping. This kid might be pretty good. Looking forward to watching him mature.

Doesn't he also have like off the charts makeup?

He has to be one of the two or three youngest players in the Midwest League.

I think I've heard that about his makeup.

It's why the Cards took him higher than his tools would've suggested honestly. Coach's kid, great approach at the plate, nice tools. Extremely young as well.

Just holding his own in a full season league at his age is an accomplishment.

Yep. Which is why I would greedily go after Juan Soto who was obliterating A ball at an even younger age than Carlson (2 days younger, but still..) pre-injury if we we're trading away relief help to the Nats.

That said, Carlson is an exciting young player in his own right. I believe I read that he has 9 assists already too.

Harrison Bader now at .305/.359/.522 in Memphis with 15 HR. He's not walking a lot but certainly looking solid there.

Bader has homered in three straight games and is up to .303/.358/.533. Should be their top trade priority.
