Now there is no reason to drive to Peoria anymore.

Gorman at #14 in BP's top 50.

Quote:
Why he’ll succeed: Gorman just turned 19 and he’s already flashed big power in the not-particularly-friendly confines of the Midwest League. It’s 70-grade raw, with more projection left in his teenage frame. There’s going to be swing-and-miss in his game, but he should hit enough to get the prodigious power into games, and he’s athletic enough to stick at third base for now. This sounds a lot like Austin Riley…

Why he might fail: The delta on Gorman is larger than any other bat in the top 15. The swing-and-miss might eat too much into the offensive profile, and while he’s a 19-year-old third baseman, he might be a 22-year-old first baseman. That sounds a lot like Pedro Alvarez…

Gorman with two homers and a double last night, with a batting line now at .262/.304/.456 as the youngest player on the FSL at the time of his callup. The plate discipline needs a little work, but he's clearly holding his own there. It's worth noting that Baseball America had their "best tools" list last week where coaches voted on the best by players in their league, and Gorman was voted the best defensive 3B in the Midwest League. (Dylan Carlson was voted the best defensive OF in the Texas League).

Excited. Can't wait to see which veteran reliever we can get for them. Maybe we'll even get three!

I believe you missed the memo...you should be excited to see which veteran reliever we won't trade them for.

i still think carlson is the better prospect, but it's good to see that gorman is holding his own at 3B.

If he can stick, thats a pretty formidable middle of the order combo in the future.

Make sure they don't get into the same sports car drunk. Better yet, invest in a driver for both of them.
