Re: NLCS GM6 GDT: Dodgers(Ryu) vs Brewers(Miley) 7:39PMCT
The Dodgers can clinch their second consecutive National League championship on Friday with a win over the Brewers in Game 6 at Miller Park. The last time Los Angeles won back-to-back pennants was 1977-78. Milwaukee will be looking to force a Game 7 and keep its hopes alive for a first pennant in 36 years.
Left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu will start for L.A. against fellow southpaw Wade Miley, who faced one batter in Game 5 as a decoy starter to influence the Dodgers' lineup construction. Miley will become only the fourth pitcher to start consecutive postseason games.
Barnes struck out three times in Game 5, but he also delivered the biggest hit and is likely to continue starting ahead of Yasmani Grandal. Baez has seven strikeouts with no runs in 4 1/3 innings in the NLCS after striking out three in 2 1/3 scoreless innings of the NL Division Series. Going back to Sept. 11, he hasn't allowed a run in his last 14 1/3 innings with 15 strikeouts. Enrique Hernandez is 0-for-10 with five strikeouts.
The Brewers still have way too many "nots" in their lineup, starting with Yelich, who is 3-for-20 without an extra-base hit in the NLCS after going 0-for-4 in Game 5. Moustakas is also struggling to the tune of 2-for-21.
"As an offense, we have to find a way to score some runs," said Yelich. "With the off-day, we can kind of just flush it. Really focus being at home and lock it in in these next two."

The Brewers suspect the Dodgers are attempting to steal their signs in the National League Championship Series. And, according to the Athletic, who cited unidentified league sources, Milwaukee is suspicious Los Angeles is using video cameras to do it.

Stealing signs is part of the game. And not that hard to do with or without cameras. Every team does it.
Make your signs harder to decode if you're worried. If a runner is on second and you're a catcher, position yourself differently each pitch and switch up the fingers.

Is it against the rules to use technology to steal signs?Big Amoco Sign wrote:Stealing signs is part of the game. And not that hard to do with or without cameras. Every team does it.

MLB has been clear in recent years, amid the slow creep of digital technology into all aspects of the game, that the sport’s long and accepted tradition of sign-stealing was protected — as long as you don’t use digital means, including cameras, wireless devices or other technology, to do it.
The sign-stealing confrontation between the Yankees and the Red Sox came to an apparent conclusion on Friday when Rob Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, fined the Boston team an undisclosed amount but chose not to hit it with more forceful penalties for using an Apple Watch to try to swipe signals from Yankees catchers.
Manfred used the announcement of the penalty to also issue a reminder to every major league team that the use of electronic devices to steal signs during games is prohibited, although he acknowledged that it is increasingly difficult to police such activities when all clubhouses are now outfitted with sophisticated replay equipment.
“All 30 clubs have been notified that future violations of this type will be subject to more serious sanctions, including the possible loss of draft picks,” Manfred said in a statement.
