Peoria actually played a double header, and won the second game 9-3. Gorman had another dinger and Whalen also had two hits and two RBI.

I know but their website was not cooperating this morning, a common theme with several of the milb sites.

Yeah, the milb sites and video are awful. Since there's no competition at all for them, they don't seem to put too many resources into making them user-friendly, or even usable at all.

Memphis

Saturday's game between the Memphis Redbirds and Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals) has been postponed due to inclement cold weather.

It is scheduled to be made up tomorrow as part of a doubleheader starting at 2:05. Both games of the doubleheader are slated as seven-inning games.

Springfield

Cardinals lose 10-7 to RoughRiders, teams combine for 28 hits
The Springfield Cardinals (8-15) and Frisco RoughRiders (14-9) combined for 28 hits Saturday in a 10-7 Frisco win at Hammons Field.

DECISIONS:
W: RHP Edgar Arredondo (2-1)
L: LHP Evan Kruczynski (0-2)

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
- The game was all but decided during Frisco's five-run fifth inning. Springfield held a 3-2 lead heading into the inning that saw the RoughRiders tag Kruczynski for three runs before recording an out. A fourth run was charged to rehabbing St. Louis Cardinals RHP Luke Gregerson.

- Springfield closed the RoughRiders 7-3 lead to 7-5 after 2B Irving Lopez doubled home a pair in the sixth, but Frisco responded with three runs in the seventh off Cardinals RHP Mike O'Reilly, pushing the score to 10-5.

NOTABLES:
- RHP Kodi Whitley tossed 1.1 scoreless relief innings, lowering his ERA to 1.35. Whitley has allowed an earned run in just one of six appearances since making his Double-A debut with Springfield on April 13.

- Springfield C Brian O'Keefe gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead with a 410-foot home run to dead center in the third inning.

- Eight of nine Cardinals starters finished with at least one hit, and five posted multi-hit games, led by O'Keefe's 3-for-4 night.

Memphis

Redbirds Split Doubleheader Against Storm Chasers
The Memphis Redbirds (13-10) split the doubleheader with the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals) Sunday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska.

Lane Thomas went 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBI in his return from his first big-league stint and the Redbirds offense scored a total of 15 runs over the two games.

Game 1: Memphis 5, Omaha 1

The two teams entered the fifth tied at 1-1, but the Redbirds rallied with two outs to plate four runs and take a 5-1 lead.

Andrew Knizner singled home Max Schrock to open the scoring in the frame, and then Adolis Garcia and Thomas followed with back-to-back home runs, the former a two-run shot.

Jake Woodford tossed 6.2 innings, allowing just one run on four hits while fanning six. Woodford has allowed one run or less in four of five starts this season.

All five Memphis runs in the game came with two outs.

Game 2: Omaha 11, Memphis 10

The Redbirds jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, with Drew Robinson and Francisco Pena each hitting a two-run home run in the first and second innings respectively.

But despite taking a 9-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth, the Redbirds bullpen allowed 11 runs on 13 hits as Memphis was walked-off for a third time this season, with Erick Mejia delivering a two-run, two-out single in the seventh for the decisive blow.

Ryan Meisinger made his first career minor league start after 134 appearances and delivered 3.0 innings of no-hit ball, fanning five and issuing one walk.
Springfield

Early inning mishaps behind Cardinals 6-4 loss to RoughRiders
A fast start for the Frisco RoughRiders (15-9) was too much for the Springfield Cardinals (8-16) to overcome on Sunday in a 6-4 Cardinals loss at Hammons Field in front of 4,565 fans.

DECISIONS:
W: RHP Walker Weickel (2-0)
L: RHP Casey Meisner (0-2)
S: LHP Locke St. John (2)

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
- Frisco tagged Meisner for six runs (four earned) in the first three innings, plating four in the third inning that opened up a 6-1 lead that proved too large for the Cardinals to battle back from.

- The Cardinals had a chance to bust the game open in the first inning after loading the bases with no outs against Frisco starter Esmerling Vasquez, but Springfield managed just a single run on a Conner Capel groundout bookended by a Johan Mieses strike out and a Chris Chinea line out to right that ended the threat.

NOTABLES:
- Cardinals LHP Jacob Patterson replaced Meisner in the fourth inning and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit and one walk. Patterson, RHP Luke Gregerson and RHP Roel Ramirez combined for 6.0 shutout relief innings.

- CF Dylan Carlson (2-for-4) recorded his seventh double of the season and the 41st of the year for Springfield--the highest team total in the Texas League.

- The sun was an issue for fielders on both sides early in the game as the teams combined for four errors. Cardinals RF Johan Mieses was charged with two errors on fly balls that turned into two unearned runs off Meisner in the first three innings.

Memphis

Redbirds Blanked in Series Opener at New Orleans
The Memphis Redbirds (13-11) left runners on base in six of the nine innings Monday night in New Orleans, Louisiana, and could not push anything across in a 3-0 defeat to the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Marlins).

Memphis finished the game 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base in the contest.

Andrew Knizner went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, extending his hitting streak to eight games. He has hits in 14 of his last 15 games and all but three outings on the season. Tommy Edman and Lane Thomas also had doubles for the Redbirds.

Genesis Cabrera worked 4.1 innings in a start, allowing three hits with three walks and two strikeouts, and he surrendered just an unearned run in the fourth inning. Jesus Cruz relieved Cabrera and got a bases-loaded double play to end the fifth before tossing a scoreless sixth.

New Orleans (14-10) picked up some breathing room with two outs in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run home run by Peter O'Brien off Chasen Shreve, who was in his second inning of relief.

Memphis went down in order to finish the ballgame.

Thomas also added an outfield assist.
Springfield

Cardinals drop final game of homestand 9-2 to RoughRiders
The Springfield Cardinals (8-17) closed out an eight-game homestand with a 9-2 loss to the South Division leading Frisco RoughRiders (16-9) on Monday in front of 5,891 fans at Hammons Field.

DECISIONS:
W: RHP Pedro Payano (3-0)
L: RHP Harold Arauz (0-1)

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
- Frisco led 2-0 after two innings and 3-0 through three, but it was the five-run sixth that seemed to dash any hopes of a Cardinals comeback. After Arauz got an out to start the inning, back-to-back singles were followed by a Josh Altmann three-run homer that made the score 6-0. Frisco managed two more runs off LHP Austin Warner, exiting the frame with an 8-0 lead.

- Springfield had an early shot at some momentum in the first inning when 1B Evan Mendoza singled and RF Johan Mieses walked with two outs and avanced to second and third on a double steal, but C Jose Godoy struck out looking to end the threat. It was the second straight day that the Cardinals left two runners in scoring position in the first inning.

NOTABLES:

- Frisco's 12 hits marked the 14th time in 25 games that Springfield opponents have finished a game with 10+ hits this season.

- Cardinals LF Conner Capel hit his third home run of the season, with this one coming in the ninth inning. It was Capel's second homer in his last five games and his first two-hit game (2-for-4) since April 13 when his average stood at .333.

- Mendoza closed out a strong final three games of this series with a 2-for-3 effort. After going 0-for-3 in Game 1 vs. Frisco, Mendoza closed the series batting 5-for-13.

Francisco Pena provided the only offense in the contest with a pinch-hit RBI double in the seventh, scoring Ramon Urias. Pena has four hits and four RBI in his last five at-bats.

Daniel Ponce de Leon, despite suffering the loss, delivered a quality start in his first outing with the Redbirds since April 17. Memphis

Shew's Solid Start Spearheads Snapping of Memphis' Skid
The Memphis Redbirds (14-12) ended their three-game losing streak behind a balanced offensive attack and a solid Triple-A debut by Anthony Shew, topping the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Marlins) Wednesday night in New Orleans, Louisiana, 5-1.

Shew hurled 5.2 shutout innings in his first Triple-A outing, allowing just three hits and striking out four with one walk. He fired 47-of-71 pitches for strikes, and all of New Orleans' (15-11) hits against him were singles.

Offensively, eight different Redbirds had a hit in the game, and four drove in a run.

The game was scoreless until the sixth inning, when Memphis benefited from tough night-time lighting as a Lane Thomas ball fell in center field for an RBI triple. Max Schrock followed with a single to left that scored Thomas and gave the Redbirds a 2-0 lead.

Schrock has now reached base in 17-of-22 games played this season.

New Orleans' first, and only, run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh off Chris Ellis, but the Redbirds maintained their 2-1 lead until adding three runs in the top of the ninth.

The three ninth-inning runs came on one hit, which was pinch-hitter Tommy Edman's run-scoring double that plated Schrock. Memphis got two more in the inning on a flyout and an error, before Jesus Cruz shut the door in a ninth inning helped by an Adolis Garcia outfield assist at second base.

A day after his eight-game hitting streak ended, Andrew Knizner went 1-for-5 and has now recorded a hit in 16-of-20 outings.

Ramon Urias and Knizner stole bases in the game.
Springfield

DECISIONS:
W: Williams Perez (2-1)
L: RHP Emmanuel Ramirez (1-4)

-SS Kramer Robertson dealt the first blow with the first of his two homers on the night, a go-ahead two-run blast in the 4th for the 2-0 lead.

-Amarillo swung in front with three in the bottom of the 4th, but a solo shot from LF Conner Capel in the 5th evened it at 3-3.

-After a go-ahead solo home run from Amarillo RF Edward Olivares in the 5th, Springfield again seized the lead in the 6th when Robertson tied it with his second homer of the game, a solo shot, followed later in the inning with a go-ahead RBI sac fly from C Jose Godoy to lift the Cardinals ahead, 5-4.

-The Cardinals opened the lead with four two-out runs in the 8th on an RBI single from 3B Evan Mendoza, a run-scoring error and a two-run home run from 1B Chris Chinea, making it 9-4.

-The Sod Poodles struck with a solo shot from C Luis Torrens in the 8th and an RBI base knock from Olivares in the 9th, but the Cards closed it from there for the 9-6 win.

NOTABLES:
- SS Kramer Robertson's two homers marked the second time a Cardinal has hit two long-balls in one game, matching 2B Irving Lopez's two-homer game on 4/15 vs. Tulsa. No Cardinal has ever hit three home runs in one game in team history.

-OF Conner Capel's 5th-inning solo shot marked his second straight game with a home run. The Katy, Texas native has hit four home runs this season, his first in Double-A.

- The Cardinals four home runs marked a season high for the club, which leads the league with 35 homers on the season.
