Rose seems genuine. Also one has infinitely more talent than the other, which is very important on the likability scale.

Bad analogy.

I don't have an issue with Tebow's adulation of God, but a lot of people are really turned off by his religious exuberance for understandable reasons. It's a polarizing topic in our society.

Derrick Rose just doesn't go there, or anywhere that is controversial. It's all work hard, be a team, and play to win. And he sounds like he means it.

Tebow does all of the things mentioned in your last sentence. But he's openly religious. Is that why people hate?

People don't like Tebow because he gets more attention than his play deserves, people who like him believe he's better than he is and because he's aligned himself with religious organizations that have been classified as hate groups because of their stances on homosexuality. And because he comes off as brainless or child-like in most interviews. He is also way too eager to talk to the cameras.

Derrick just comes off as shy, grateful and hesitant to draw attention to himself.

They both seem like wonderful people though.

I am very happy Derrick Rose is a Chicago Bull, especially after Pujols revealed his true colors. My son teaches in the neighboorhood that DRose grew up in, and those kids have 2 strikes against them pretty much from day 1. My son said basketball on the playground at school is a pretty damn physical affair, and he's sure Rose learned to protect the ball going into the paint on the same outdoor courts that we supervises. He said it's unreal how physically brutal the games are even with the real little kids. You have heard no harm no foul? There it's just no foul.
