So are both Reed and Mitchell coming back next year? SLU should be really good if they do.

I'm going to guess that Rick Majerus is a better evaluator of talent and developer of basketball skill than your compadre. SLU will be really really good next year.

Most college basketball players don't really play for keeps during pick up games.

Most college basketball players don't really play for keeps during pick up games.

He plays with them daily during the offseason, occasionally has dinner with Majerus and even has participated in private try-outs with the team to be a walk on. I think he has a decent gauge of talent. But what do I know, I'm not a 500 lb bald man huffing and puffing down the side of a court.

If your friend is eating with Majerus I hope he's being careful.


You don't really think Reed and Mitchell are going to be significantly worse next year, do you? It's likely this fiasco got SLU, in trade, an older more physically mature Reed cuz the dude was going to bolt for the NBA after this year and there's no way that's going to happen now. It seems crazy to think that Majerus is going to let them erode their skills then come play for him next year. I just don't see it.

I know he's eaten at Pappy's with him before. He still has all his fingers fortunately.


I hope you're right. I think just a lack of playing real games against real competition has made them rusty, so hopefully a full season of training with the team and preparing them for next season gets them back on track.

This entire situation has been a complete [expletive] and is 1 of many reasons no matter how successful, or unsuccessful, I become, I'm not giving money to SLU.
