Paul to the Lakers is heating up. I hated him a little for demanding a trade to one particular team, but if he's a Laker, I hope his knees pop, or at the very least, someone punches him in the [expletive].

Speaking of popping knees, your guy is going to retire according to Chris Broussard. Tragic. Loved Roy's game.

It was already tragic. I came to grips with the tragedy long ago. This is about the best way I can think of for it to resolve itself. His legend as a Blazer is safe. No one to be mad at except God who clearly isn't a Blazer fan this way. And game 4 becomes quite the swan song.
Now amnesty Camby and go get Nene.

I heard Bill Simmons talking about this earlier. Sounds like Paul might be suing the league over it. I know very little about it, but it sounds like a bad move from Stern.

There seems to be belief that the teams may work on a slightly altered deal, including some inconsequential draft picks in the trade, which Stern will sign off on just to save face.

The Hornets were not the ones getting the bad end of that deal.

That would be the Rockets IMO. And the Lakers without another move.

Which is why, Tommy Craggs is 100% correct when he repeats the word "[expletive]" like 100 times: http://deadspin.com/5866620/five-bullsh ... paul-trade

Also announced today; a day after he signed his qualifying offer, Oden had a setback. May not play this year.

...and Aldridge is sidelined with WPW heart issues for a week to two, which in Blazerese means six months. What a day. Obviously we aren't missing much from what was a decent-looking team last year. But I was really hoping to have Oden for the stretch run. And given the day and the recent history, it's hard not to worry about the last third of our would-be dynasty--even though we're being told not to.

I would think it's the Lakers; two elite 7-footers for a short point guard with a shaky knee?..wow. Their success was due to the length of the frontcourt they threw out there with Kobe. Although they would've ended up with Kobe/Paul in the back court, I don't see how they contend with just Bynum & scrubs down low....they surely must've been confident in their chances of nabbing Dwight Howard.
