So what if he held out in 2008?

He's been a leader, a role model for others I believe, and is all about the team.

He hasn't requested a trade or anything of the like. He wants to finish his career in St. Louis.

Early in his career he tapped out too much. But he's earned my respect over the years. Obviously he hasn't been able to show his full potential under Linehan and Spagnuolo team futility. He pushes himself on his own, but he could have been better if pushed by other good players.

What a waste.

I barely follow pro football, and I wish the dude had a chance to play for a contender.

Not only that he hasn't played for a contender, but look at the offensive lines we've had in St. Louis over the years. Think what he would have done for a better team. I wonder how many seasonal records he would have broken.

This game too is pretty much the only thing our brilliant coaches haven't or couldn't screw up: Give the ball to Jackson up the middle. And something that's almost never utilized is how solid of a pass catcher he is. If we actually had a passing game any of the years he's been here...

Jackson, IMO, is the equivalent of a Peyton Manning surrounded by Mardy Gilyards.

I hate him in fantasy football. I usually play in 4 leagues a year and I always seem to have him in, at least, three leagues. The guy is a clydsdale until the end zone nears.

Great running back; I wonder how upset he is that his career will end without ever having played on a decent team.

Yep, I had him on my team...it was frustrating, but a lot of it is the [expletive] play calling that dooms Jackson. You gotta have respect for the guy though, he wants to stick with his team. He would be an absolute beast on a team with a good O line.

Someone was interviewing him earlier this season, maybe like a month ago, and asked him if he was disappointed to never have played for a winning team and if he felt his talents were wasted here (something like that). I don't remember his answer verbatim, but it was something like he accepts his situation completely and feels that it's his calling to be here, teaching young players how to play the game the right way. He also said he's been extremely blessed, and how many people ever get the opportunity to play in the NFL. I was impressed.

He has a charity that focuses on teaching inner city kids about architecture. Strange but true.
