The NFL knew about the naming rights negotiations with Farmers Insurance from the get-go and welcomed the strategic partnership. AEG would not be focused on Farmers Field without the NFL’s blessing.
Likewise, Majestic would not be shovel ready without the NFL’s blessing as well. In fact, the NFL has mandated to Majestic that its stadium allow for two NFL teams. Taylor Talt, Project Manager for LA Stadium, referenced this ongoing communication with the NFL in our discussions. “The NFL has mandated that our plans include the necessary requirements for two teams but our focus in on securing the first team,” he said. “”We are confident in our proposal and excited about the next steps.” And the next steps will be updating the NFL owners next week at a league meeting, where Roger Goodell and the NFL will hear about both LA Stadium and Farmers Field.
