Player to watch: Northwestern wideout Jeremy Ebert. For reasons lost on me, he was not invited to the combine after an incredibly productive college career. Word is he ran a 4.38 in his pro day. He's not that fast, but he's certainly fast enough for the NFL. He ran way from several NFL calibre DBs last season, including two guys on Nebraska. Whoever signs him will be very happy, I think.

Wow, three firsts and the second from the Redskins. Better than I expected. Now I'm hoping Fisher trades down again instead of wasting an early #1 on Blackmon.

If in fact it's true as reported, why in the world would we make the deal with Washington, if Cleveland was also offering 3 first rounders+a second round pick? Browns have 2 this year, plus their first is higher than washingtons....must be wrong/something not clear yet.....

Jaguars are apparently in love with Blackmon. How about they extort Jacksonville's third rounder for him, then trade down again? Just hope the new regime drafts a good player every now and then.

I was hoping they would do something more imaginative to get better right away, but I suppose this is a safe move.

Yeah, I hope you're right...I just don't want them wasting the pick on Blackmon. Don't get me wrong, I think he will be a fine player....just not a #1 type guy or a top 10 pick. I'd rather them try and sign a guy like v Jackson (and pray for no more dwi's) and use the pick on something else (an o lineman that's worth a damn?)

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen is prepared to do whatever it takes to land Manning, the highly prized free-agent quarterback who is flying with the team's football bosses of John Elway, John Fox and Brian Xanders to Denver for an visit.

Bowlen took a redeye flight late last night from his Hawaii residence and is at his Dove Valley headquarters office awaiting Manning's arrival.

The Broncos do have the financial resources and salary cap room, the source said, and are willing to do what it takes to sign Manning.

This should get your juices flowing....

Peyton Manning, flanked by Denver Broncos legend turned executive John Elway and head coach John Fox, tours the team's
Dove Valley training facility Friday. The quarterback was scheduled to spend the night in Denver, but his agent wasn't with him,
making a contract agreement unlikely. An NFL source said Manning may also visit the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins.
Manning reportedly wants to make a decision by Tuesday. (John Leyba, The Denver Post)

Broncos are a mile high on Peyton Manning

I still think he's destined for Miami, and Denver is just leverage for him. Definitely don't want to get my hopes up, but I'd really dig it if Denver could land him.

Rams: If that's a done deal with Washington, that's a terrific return for St. Louis.

That would be cool, but I don't think they have the cap space.
