Blues are in for a dogfight. I know Elliott and the Blues were great all season, but the Kings' season stats don't tell the whole story for them. They really turned it on at the end. They are a different team than they were in November or December. Heck, Sutter didn't even take over until around Christmas. It should be a fun series to watch. I could see either team winning, and going far.

Yeah, I could honestly see any team in west go to the finals & not be surprised by it. Of course I wasn't expecting Phoenix to go up 2-0 on Nashville, they've seemed to handle th pretty easily at this point.

Huge game tonight for the Blues, hopefully they can put a few of those close range shots past Quick this time, if there's a slight hole in his game it looks to be blocker side high.

How is the LA player not suspended for boarding Petro?

Probably because he doesn't really deserve one. Personally, I don't believe that play was intentional in any way.

More questionable was why Petro remained on the ice after the hit, and why Backes was beaten to the rebound by 2 Kings players, including a D-man.

He remained on the ice for about 30 seconds and then was gone for the rest of the game. Intentional or not, players have been suspended for less.

Looks like Petro may be in tonight, skated this morning.

I don't think the hit was worthy of a suspension but it was clearly a major penalty. Intentional or not, you can't violently shove a guy into the boards.

I'm glad they'll go with Cole if Petro is out. Huskins was a joke during game one versus the Sharks. He was awful. Also, it looks like Stewart is back on the [expletive] list. I thought he picked it up over the last few games, but D'Ags is in tonight. Backes and Berglund are switching wingers, as well. We really need this one.

Not many boarding calls have resulted in suspensions, regardless of the outcome. Usually there has be clear intent, which in this case there was not.

I'm OK with the Stewart/D'ags switch. If Stewart isn't providing offense, D'ags is the better defender and not a slouch on offense. Problem is that he hasn't played very well since coming back.

Don't really like the Berglund/Backes switch. I hate to mess up the Berglund line, as well as it has been playing. It was fantastic on Saturday night, despite the lack of scores.

I keep seeing on another site that he was still on the ice because the refs wouldn't allow the Blues to change for some reason and that he tried to get off immediately when the Blues 'won' the face off and that is when everything broke down.

Bottom line, that should have been 5 minutes and an ejection because of the blood/head injury and I don't think the Blues are flustered by the ball and don't give that up. Plus AP would have been off the ice.

I wish I had the game on the DVR so I could go back and actually watch again to see if he was in fact forced to remain on the ice but I don't have that option and am only repeating what others are saying... which means that it is probably wrong and I'm going to look like an idiot (nothing new there). I was watching and drinking with a bunch of friends so I can't say that I was paying very close attention at all times. They also live two doors down from Tower Pub so a bunch of us might have ran there to do shots a couple of times too.

JR seems to think Petro is playing because the Blues wouldn't let the building deflate by not having him in the lineup to start the game. He thinks they would announce if he isn't playing and they haven't yet.

He was definately on the ice, and was the other d-man back on the play with Cola--so if the plan was to get him off right away, he didn't skate to the bench.

My question is, why was he still out there? Blues choice to be on the PP, or the refs? I have a hard time believing it was the refs, because Cola replaced Russell. I guess if Petro was still on the ice by the bench after the rest of the line change, so they forced him to stay in.
