Hockey can be incredibly stressful to watch, but it has nothing on playoff baseball.
I disagree. Playoff hockey always raises my heart rate like baseball rarely can.

I believe it's due to the sustained action/short stoppages in a hockey game. If a playoff baseball game is suspenseful, there's always the 3 minute half inning commercial break to calm down.

Wasn't Stewart their leading scorer in the regular season? That's got to count for something.

I'd let AMac go for the simple fact that he's too small. The league is getting bigger, and we need to use AMac's money plus trading one of our goalies for a good-sized C/F who can score. Easier said than done, of course.

Well I guess I've moved past mourning, and gone to looking at the bright sides.

Jaden Schwartz looked great in this series.

We can't face the Kings every year, right?

Elliot at least didn't turn into a pumpkin again, except for that OT goal.

[expletive], that OT goal, and the Penner goal with .2 seconds remaining. [expletive]. That was the difference in this series. [expletive]. And like 30 posts that we hit. [expletive]. Now I'm mad again.

This thread perfectly communicates how I feel about the Blues right now.

Also kinda pissed that we struggled this much to bury pucks, yet the Tank played all of like 4 minutes in a single game.

Surely we could have found some way to get him into the lineup.

He hadn't shown anything for six weeks. I still think the skys the limit for him in the NHL, but not this year.

His biggest weakness right now is overcoming physical play that isn't as prominent in Europe. LA is probably the epitome of smashmouth NHL hockey right now. Not a good matchup for the Tank or the Blues in general.

I feel our group of forwards can be physical, or they can score goals. They can't do both simultaneously. Last year's series against the Kings they tried to score goals and were overwhelmed physically. This year they tried to be physical and couldn't score enough goals.

It's just one of those things where it's gonna have to click.

The Kings core has pretty much been together since 2009 and look how it went for them:
2008: 14th place
2009: 6th place
2010: 7th place
2011: 8th place (added a goal scorer and it finally clicked....won a cup).
2012: 5th place.

The Blues core has pretty much been together since 2010:
2008: 6th place
2009: 9th place
2010: 11th place (when i'd say the core started).
2011: 2nd place
2012: 4th place
2013: hopefully it clicks.

So, guesses going forward?

I have:
East -
Penguins sweeping Ottawa
Bruins in 7 over the Rangers

West -
Kings in 5 over San Jose
Chicago in 5 over Detroit

Penguins win in the East in 5
Hawks win in the West in 7

Hawks win the Cup in 6

East -
Pittsburgh in 5 over Ottawa
Boston in 6 over New York

West -
LA in 7 over San Jose (Both are great at home)
Chicago in 6 over Detroit

Penguins win East over Boston in 6
Hawks win West over LA in 7

Penguins win the Cup in 7

Now that Vokoun has stabilized things in net, the Penguins are an absolute juggernaut.
