Since a race horse is fastest at 4.5 years old https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl ... po=3.84615 isn't it dumb that the biggest prizes/races are for 3 year olds?

#tradition?

I'd seen that before and don't know the answer.

Arkansas Derby will be televised on DirecTV 602. I think it's horse racing channel

Class Empire erases a lot of the doubts people had (as much as a horse going off at 2-1 can have doubters). After a great 2016, he had an foot issue, back issue, and training issues in 2017. But, finished the 1 1/8 mile race in 1:48.93 which is pretty damn respectable considering he was stuck in a pack of horses for about a mile.

Don't know if he'll be the favorite in the Kentucky Derby, but he'll be among them I'd guess.

Here's the video; he's the #2 horse. Really put it on down the stretch which is always exciting.

I had a strong hunch Always Dreaming would pull it off yesterday.

Made me 500 bucks. I really like Practical Joke at 20-1, but a coworker that used to own race horses and is still friends with a bunch of handicappers convinced me on Always Dreaming.
