DALLAS -- Oregon Ducks No. 2 receiver Darren Carrington is ineligible for Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T against Ohio State because of a failed NCAA drug test, according to multiple reports.

A recruit should lose college eligibility if he uses poor grammar on twitter.

FWIW ^ ranks the commits. Mizzou #26. Sconnie 30.

Though Mizzou is ranked 11th in SEC.

We can only dip our toe into the water of a college football playoff, but by all means, let's add three more meaningless bowl games:

Adding bowl games and a college football playoff aren't mutually exclusive. I get that not all bowl games are great, and basically all bowl games outside the final four or whatever are mostly meaningless. But, I, for one, welcome more games.

You're right, they're not mutually exclusive, but the playoffs were awesome. Cincinnati versus Louisiana-Monroe? Not so much. I'm glad you welcome more games, but if it's the Tucson Bowl, I'd guess you're in the minority.

Why is getting the former like pulling teeth but the latter is a snap? Of course this is rhetorical, I know the answer is money.

I've never understood the bellyaching about [expletive] bowl games. It's better than an extra 3 hours of Sportscenter or First Take or whatever ridiculous show ESPN is going to air.
