Re: 15-16 college basketball thread
I heard an OTL radio segment about the UConn women last night. They've lost 12 games in the last 8 seasons combined, and assuming they win the title game this year, will have won 6 of the last 8 national titles(making the Final 4 the other two years). I knew they were an elite program, but that's absurd.

It's not a sign of a healthy athletic environment. It's like a lot of these HS football programs you see in non urban areas - they run through the regular season winning almost every game with a running clock. It seems like a complete waste to me. That's not what I think competition should be about.
As if I needed another reason to not watch women's basketball.

Of course I picked Nova to win it all, but was out sick from work the week that sheets were turned in so all I could do was watch as my bracket did well and I pick the champ for the first time in probably 5 years. Perfect!

I imagine this will be Williams last year, with his health issues and more importantly, possible sanctions for academic fraud.

I wonder if their sanctions for Williams will be as harsh as they were for Boeheim?UK wrote:I imagine this will be Williams last year, with his health issues and more importantly, possible sanctions for academic fraud.

funny I don't know much about him, other than his doucher Kansas tenure and his very punchable face.

and re Michael Jordan, I missed his reaction somehow, but imo it is cool to see superstar ex-players, coaches etc have passion like regular fans. i.e. Ole Kurt Warner was pretty into that UNI game . I'm sure they both survived these losses.
