So they may actually win more than a few games this year?

I think 8 wins again will be disappointing. They were 28/1 odds to win it all in April, and that was before Tilmon, Robertson and likely Jontay committed.Swirls wrote:So they may actually win more than a few games this year?

Late 90s early 2000s when god save the quinn took over they had a lot of great recruiting classes but never did much. norm stewart spent 30 some odd years there with varying degrees of success too.

Weren't they a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney back in like 2011 or 2012 towards the end of Frank Haith's tenure?AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Late 90s early 2000s when god save the quinn took over they had a lot of great recruiting classes but never did much. norm stewart spent 30 some odd years there with varying degrees of success too.

His first year they got a 2 seed and arguably could've been a 1... then lost to Norfolk State who shot the lights out.Swirls wrote:Weren't they a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney back in like 2011 or 2012 towards the end of Frank Haith's tenure?AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Late 90s early 2000s when god save the quinn took over they had a lot of great recruiting classes but never did much. norm stewart spent 30 some odd years there with varying degrees of success too.

Ah, that's what I was thinking of. I thought it was later in his reign rather than his first year.MrCrowesGarden wrote:His first year they got a 2 seed and arguably could've been a 1... then lost to Norfolk State who shot the lights out.Swirls wrote:Weren't they a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney back in like 2011 or 2012 towards the end of Frank Haith's tenure?AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Late 90s early 2000s when god save the quinn took over they had a lot of great recruiting classes but never did much. norm stewart spent 30 some odd years there with varying degrees of success too.

Yeah, they had a #2 seed mostly if not fully with Anderson's players iirc. People in Arkansas were all excited because they were expecting Anderson to do the same thing at Arkansas and thus far he has severely underperformed those expectations though at least last year they won a game in the tournament and gave the eventual champions all they wanted.

Jarnell Stokes, Archie Goodwin, KeVaughn Allen and Malik Monk would've helped.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Yeah, they had a #2 seed mostly if not fully with Anderson's players iirc. I seem to remember Mizzou having a good team in 1993 - 1994.

Oh yeah. 28-4 and went 14-0 in the Big 8.
They also had this 120-68 beatdown put on them by the champs

It's all relative but from '76-'03 or so they had 20 tournament teams. In the Norm Stewart years they won a lot of Big 8 titles. Just never made hay in the Tourney.
