That one was shocking and not shocking at all. He's been an unbelievable player and pretty much a disaster as a personality. Curious to see what the return is. It should be extremely high, but its probably just a couple mid-round draft picks.

For a 4th this year and a 2nd in 2019. Basically gave him away.

There's no chance the Rams would've done this if they were still in St. Louis.

A 2nd and a 4th isn't bad value, really. Peters is a head case.

I think if that's all you're going to get, you keep him then. He's a top 5 corner in the league.

Typically, that's what you would do because player for picks trades rarely get what we as fans would consider even value in return, unless it's a QB. Even then people feel like the Chiefs fleeced the Redskins in the Alex Smith trade and all they got was a slot corner -- granted, he is an elite slot corner -- and a 3rd round pick. The Chiefs basically got slightly less value -- 2nd rounder = Kendall Fuller + a 4th rounder -- for Peters than they did for Smith.

The issue here is that, as good as John Dorsey was at evaluating talent, he sucked at managing the salary cap. We hang on to Peters through this year and then we're going to have to let him walk as a free agent because we won't be able to afford to either re-up with him or franchise him. Couple that with the legitimate on-the-field discipline issues and the terrible tackling -- he pretty much refused to tackle all year and only went for strips -- and the Chiefs didn't do as bad as it seems in this trade.

The purge will continue. We've already dumped Smith and Derrick Johnson. Ron Parker, Tamba Hali, and maybe another player or two will also go. We'll gain the cap space we need and we'll probably be pretty aggressive in free agency. Of those players, I think that Peters is the only one we will miss and we've essentially replaced him with another top-flight young CB in Fuller. Find a reliable NT on free agency. Sign or draft a second CB opposite Fuller, so Nelson (whom I like) can go to the slot. Maybe kick the tires on an interior LB and a safety opposite Berry (neither of those are necessary to spend much money on) and we'll be all around much younger, faster, and arguably better for the Pat Mahomes era. Plenty of mad Chiefs fans... but I think there are a lot of reasons for optimism.

The Seahawks just gave away Michael Bennett to the Eagles for a Day 3 pick and a practice squad receiver. He's also not really making that much money, comparatively. Also sounds like Richard Sherman out in Seattle.

Overhaul going on there.

That's going to be a helluva secondary, and a three-ring circus locker room, with Talib and Peters.
