I still am more concerned with how next year's roster looks because without a second line, they ain't going anywhere.
Yeah, I think I would've rather traded the pick as part of a package to get a C/RW if that was an option, but as a fallback getting Bokk seems pretty good. I haven't seen much video of him at all, but he was a low teens to twenty-ish pick on most of the mocks that I saw. He fills a need with a RH RW shot and potentially makes a guy like Kyrou expendable in trade for an immediate upgrade. I really like the pick.

As for Veleno it looks like the reputation of the QMJHL hurt the prospects as all of Zadina/Dobson/Veleno fell.

Tavares won’t meet with Blues.

Gonna have to make a trade.

I know nothing about prospects and didn't even read about any in the upcoming draft, so I hope it was a good pick and worth losing that mid 70s pick. Still plenty of time for a trade. We do need something for the 2nd line. At least one if not two players, and we need to find a way to drop some expensive 3rd line talent, which will be tough.

I don't blame Tavares for not wanting to come here. We have a good first line and a lot of expensive not much else. One or two lehtera for schenn type trades are needed to make us attractive again.

It sounds like Armstrong is asking about both Ryan O’Reilly and Jeff Skinner. O’Reilly has a July 1 roster bonus and is more likely to stay in Buffalo if that date passes. Skinner has a no trade clause.

I think Skinner specifically would be a pretty significant upgrade.

Gonna have to win. Sounds like Blues were in on Panarin, but he wants to play in a major market and won’t sign an extension.

Strickland says Skinner turned down some trades. Another writer says Hurricanes haven’t taken any deals to Skinner for his approval.
