Buddies and I are looking for more destinations for mountain biking weekends. May be guys' weekends or family weekends. What are your favorite places?

I'll start:

Cuyuna County State Recreation Area - Crosby, MN
30 miles of trails in a relatively small space, so it's easy to make a variety of loops. Located in an old iron mining area, so adjacent lakes are old iron mines.

Located 3 hours north of Mpls.

We stayed in one of the yurts last weekend and that was pretty cool.

Several of my trail running friends are into MTB also.

The local guys seem content with St. Louis area trails. you could do a different system each day for a week and not cover it all- Chubb Trail, Greensfelder and Rockwoods Range, Lost Valley. This is the page with the info https://gorctrails.com/trails I've trail run most of them, so let me know if you want it narrowed down some.

From St. Louis they have all been making pilgrimages to NW Arkansas - Sounds like some of the Walton clan with their $ got it rolling

Another friend has mentioned Trek in WI has a trail system they manage.

The Berryman Loop west of Potosi MO (part of the Ozark Trail System) is 26 miles of woodsy rolling hill singletrack.
I've run it several times - never biked. You feel like you've traveled some where when done. Typical Ozark scenery. Not a lot for the families tagging along though, unless they like roughing it.

Other parts of Ozark Trail allow MTB, but not all. may not be as user friendly.

We've spent lots of summers spent in Summit County Colorado -Breckenridge - Singletrack galore in summer. Can get all day hauls up on ski lifts if you want.

Sedona has some gems. I hear Moab does too.

Northern WI has a bunch of trails near the Cable/Hayward area. That's where the have the annual Chequamegon race.

Because I live in Illinois so the mountain biking scene isn't great. However, cyclocross is something I enjoy around here. The events have started and I plan to race in one in a few weeks.
