Nuggets forums are ecstatic. It made perfect sense. Denver has all sorts of role players (which is what you typically get at 14). Rolling the dice on a guy with Porter's upside is exactly what the franchise needs. If it doesn't work out........ it's still the right move.

It's wild that his brother will likely be picked earlier in next year's draft.

I love Miles Bridges. One of the best athletes in the draft, and I've head that he's a super high character guy. He'll be great.

The Sixers picked a kid whose mom works for the organization. He did a presser on how cool it was going to be to stay in Philly... then got traded to the Suns.

Yeah, that was pretty damn cold. I feel bad for the kid.

Re: 2018-19 NBA Thread
Porter makes sense for Denver because they're basically a playoff team already and they don't need him to do a whole bunch right away. He can develop and grow at a normal pace and nobody really expects him to be Donovan Mitchell right out of the gate.
I'm tempering my expectations of him since 12 NBA teams had the opportunity to draft him, most of them the teams with the biggest need for dramatic improvement, and they all passed.
I like the DAL-ATL swap for both teams. I think Schroder isn't happy in ATL, but I also think he's a one-dimensional guy who won't be part of their next run of success and this gives them a chance to move on from him. Young gives them a shooter and DAL clearly wins by moving up for Doncic. If they think that Doncic is what he was hyped as during most of the last year--the best European prospect ever--then they don't mind giving up a future first and Trae Young for him.
