Re: 2019 NFL Season
The NFL is a terrible joke. Their product is terrible and becoming unwatchable with all of the commercial breaks and all of the replays and reviews. Games are almost always close to 3.5 or 4 hours. The corruption and arrogance of the league leaders and owners is atrocious.
[expletive] you NFL.

Probably belongs in the lying asshat thread

Asked about the trademark application at Patriots OTAs on Thursday, Brady claimed that he does not even like the nickname Tom Terrific and said he was only trying to obtain the trademark so that others could not use it, which he says someone else was attempting to do.

Re: 2019 NFL Season
I haven't posted about this in awhile, but the deeper the media and investigators dug into the Hill/Espinal situation the more confusing it got. The obvious things that everyone has seen or heard look bad for Hill -- like banned from the league bad. But below that is a convoluted mess of contradictory evidence, statements, and lack of witnesses. The truth in this situation ranges from Hill beating Espinal in college and then breaking their son's arm this past year to, almost equally possible, Espinal has a psychological disorder that includes self-abuse and schyzophrenia and Hill never really hurt Espinal (as bad as was claimed) in the first place. Now, I'm not down with victim blaming and I'm certainly inclined to believe that some real shady stuff went down between these two, but when you're the NFL trying to parse all of it, it's not surprising this is where they ended up. It's just impossible to pin down any actions that clearly say "this violates the NFL policy".
Personally, as all of this came down, the idea of Hill getting banned or missing the whole season became increasingly unlikely. The last week or so, I thought at least a 2 game suspension was likely, even with little evidence and a bunch of contradictions. Just a "you're making us look bad, stop doing it" penalty might have been justifiable, even without much grounds for the punishment. But, no. Hill will play. And the Chiefs are your presumptive Super Bowl favorites in the AFC again.

He's a piece of trash.
He's fast though, so it's all good.

The Packers play their first preseason game against the Texans tonight. Already Aaron Rodgers has criticized the new head coach. Not a good sign.
