my daughter , she called to tell me, (actual work day phone calls are rare.) And just like she did when she called told me Zdeno Chara was out for rest of the Cup (I found that unsubstantiated before GRB could call me on it)

I quizzed her -asked her where she saw it and everything. She gets murky and says NHL something... And then she says she'll send me the link if I want it. I don't force the issue and post it here. Haha....nevermind.

Edit: I just texted her that it is still just a rumor...her reply "I hope so". :obucardheadbang: :obucardheadbang: .... My reply-"my cred with forum internet strangers is ruined-er"
Lol; nah someone said a fake twitter handle was created and said maroon signed with Calgary for 5 years/15 mil...people apparently quickly worked out it was a made up account since that contract would be rather foolish

The St. Louis Blues have signed center Mike Vecchione to a two-way contract.

Vecchione played a couple of games with the Flyers when he signed out of Union College in 2017 but has spent the last two seasons with their farm team in Lehigh Valley where he had 15 goals and 38 points in 67 games last season. He will get a fresh start with the Blues.

The Blues have inked forward Evan Polei to a contract.

Terms were not disclosed. The 23-year-old winger registered 20 points in 53 games in the AHL last season and obviously has no fantasy value at this time.

The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Derrick Pouliot to a two-way contract.

Pouliot will get $700,000. He spent last season with the Canucks where he had three goals and 12 points in 62 games. He was not given a qualifying offer by the Canucks and as a result it appears his best offer was the two-way contract by the Blues.

The Blues have signed winger Nick Lappin to a contract.

Finacial terms were not disclosed. Lappin did not register a point in 11 games with New Jersey last season. Needless to say, the 26-year-old has no fantasy value.

he's obv a very good backup....as much as we [expletive], there's prob 10ish goalies starting for teams right now that he's better than.

but that's a lot for a back up/we could do a lot with that, esp with contracts coming up...and he's not gonna gain any value by sitting this year and trying to trade him next offseason when we really could use the money.

maybe just waiting on agreeing with binnington first/making sure he's locked up before moving him?

Making sure Binnington is signed is definitely the priority, but Allen is also insurance in the unlikely event Binnington regresses in the early part of next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they held onto Allen in the short term, but dealt him later.

$1.5m/year

A little more than I expected, but probably about right if you expect him to be an everyday player.

Good move. Lots of upside for under a million.

It's worth it. Here's hoping that an additional year beyond surgery will let him show signs of his old self. But if not, the salary and term aren't problems at all.

And a trade!
Other than quickly looking around the prospect forums, seems like another solid, big center the Blues love to have. His college coach commented on him working hard and basically being a defensive beast.

So, borderline top9 potential maybe?

EDIT: Blues are probably hunting for guys like this as depth since they had so few draft picks this year.
