I would trade Wallace for Holliday.

Current contract: 08:$9.5M, 09:$13.5M

I would hope that we would resign him and DeRosa. That would be adding quite a bit of payroll, but worth it, imo. We have quite a bit of flexibility right now.

Reasonable?
You know who is agent is?
I wish the best, but do you think the Cards could sign him for say 4 years $60 million?

I know, I guess it depends on how the organization feels about Daryl Jones if he could start next year, because otherwise we'll have a gaping hole in left field and no way does this team have the ability to sign somebody to fill it that's not already on the team.

From the above linked espn article
Holliday could be in line for an award of $16 million
So, the Cards could be on the hook for a $16 mil/year contract if Holliday accepts arbitration. That doesn't seem reasonable to me.

No, I think there's a better chance of us re-signing DeRosa to play 3b. If Wallace has any future here I think it's left field, and really that's not a good spot for him.

do you think he would be on the MLB roster next year?
and what.. do you think he'd be a 1b or DH?

It's hard to say where he'd be, but yes, I think he's fully capable of being a MLB hitter next year. The A's could put Jack Cust in left next year, Wallace at 1b, and DH Daric Barton. It really would just come down to if they like Wallace or Barton better at 1b.

I'd do a Wallace for Holliday.
