Mon thru Sat I can have no more than 7 starters out of these choices.

i can set lineups each day, so for instance if Blanton or Cook do poorly/well on Monday, it could affect my choice of them later.

no brainers

Johan Santana NYM @ PIT (Duke)
Felix Hernandez SEA v Min (Swarzak)

strong probables

Randy Johnson SF @ WAS (Zimmerman) ... weak opponent, and well, he's still the Unit.
Joe Blanton PHI @ SD (Correia) ... pitched well his last start, and against weak opponent.

this leaves me three more ...

Jarrod Washburn SEA vs BAL (Hill)
Kenshin Kawakami ATL vs CHC (Wells)
Doug Davis ARI @ SD (Geer)

which would mean benching these guys ?

Aaron Cook COL @ HOU (Oswalt)
Ross Olendorf PIT v NYM (Pelfrey)
Aaron Harang CIN @ STL (Carpenter)
Brian Tallet TOR v LAA (Lackey)
Aaron Cook COL @ STL (Wellemeyer)
Joe Blanton PHI @ LAD (Kuroda)

I like Davis and Kawakami's matchups. I am too lazy to look it up but see if Kawakami is pitching on 4 days rest or 5 days rest. In Japan he was pitching in a 6 man rotation so if he has that extra day of rest it could lead to a better performance. I also like Harang's start versus the Cards. A close miss would be Olendorf who has been decent, and the Mets right now are without Reyes, Delgado, and Beltran has missed the last 2 games with a stomach virus. That makes that lineup a lot easier to pitch to.

hmm... it is hard to bench Harang, even against Carp and the Cards ...

but if i go with Harang which one would you suggest i bench instead?

Washburn, right?
