Trade thoughts?
Quick overview of the league...points league, pitchers aren't worth much, best starter scored around 300 points, while Pujols scored 740. You can keep 5 guys, and I already kept two OF'ers last year (Kemp/J Upton).
I traded Helton/McCutcheon/Sean Rodriguez and Ricky Nolasco for Jay Bruce, Clay Buchholz, Joey Votto.
1B- Votto/Carlos Pena/Nick Johnson
OF- Upton/Kemp/Bruce/Rios/Conor Jackson
SP- Kershaw/Billingsley/Scherzer/Buchholz/Latos/Niemann/Lilly/Masterson
I think I did pretty well due to the power potential of Bruce/Votto. Thoughts?

Re: Trade thoughts?
That's a flat out steal.
My turn:
Get Lowe and Franklin, give De La Rosa and Franciso.

You win. Fransisco is an injury risk but De La Rosa gives you Ks. If Franklin can have 25-30 saves this season, this trade will be better than you think.

Is the other team just straight up rebuilding?phinstd wrote:Quick overview of the league...points league, pitchers aren't worth much, best starter scored around 300 points, while Pujols scored 740. You can keep 5 guys, and I already kept two OF'ers last year (Kemp/J Upton).

Re: Trade thoughts?
If you're rebuilding why in the world do you trade Bruce/Votto?

Re: Trade thoughts?
I'm glad to hear people like the deal for me...the math thinks I lost the trade. Since you lose a point for a K, and gain a point for a BB, Helton is sneaky good, while Bruce is worse than you think.
Rodriguez was a meh for me in the deal, because I needed a roster spot and would have cut him or Conor Jackson anyway.
Buchholz can score similar points to Nolasco since you lose 3 for a loss, and the Red Sox could keep Buchholz from losing too many games.
I kept Figgins last year, and going to from Figgins to Votto is a huge step up. My 5 keepers will now be:
Utley/McCann/Votto/J Upton/Kemp. That's pretty solid...

Depends on what you need obviously, but if you had great closers already, I doubt you'd be entertaining the deal.

De LaRosa will get you a lot of K's, and Francisco looks like a nice bounce back guy, but Franklin can get you a lot of saves, and Lowe is consistent.planet pujolsian wrote:That's a flat out steal.

For my deal, I give Pujols, Soto, and Nyjer Morgan, get Mauer and Crawford. I have Berkman as well.

Scoring format? In my world, I never give up Pujols.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:Run. Run away.planet pujolsian wrote:That's a flat out steal.

Re: Trade thoughts?
You never want to give up Pujols, but is it a keeper league??? In a keeper league you're giving up the best player in baseball (which sucks) and two extras for two keepers in my opinion, which would at least make me think about it. In a one year league I can't think of a reason that I'd accept that.phinstd wrote:Scoring format?
