Sell me.

Choo is almost 28, his ZIPS for this season is
19 HR 83R 79 RBI .288

Cruz
29 HR 63R 88 RBI .291

The extra runs would be nice, but most of the difference is the games Cruz has missed so far. He's down 7 runs by ZIPS to finish the season. Granted he's almost 30.

I had thought that the differences in OPS and SB would point in Choo's favor - I didn't realize that Cruz swiped 20 bags last year, and that their OPS is pretty similar. Cruz has a higher SLG to offset Choo's higher OBP, but the end line is similar to each other.

So I'd say it's a wash now.

Gotcha. Ironically it is an OPS league, so it's a few steals and a few runs to a few HR's and a few RBI's.

At the end of the day I'll ideally move two guys for one so I don't have make that choice

we have a points based league

we are limited to 7 starts per week, and we set lineups daily.

with our points system, a lights out set up guy like Gregorson, who has something like 40 Ks and 2 BBs, with a bunch of Holds, is reasonably valuable, but needs to keep it up to score in the range of the crappier closers.

we only have 2 relief pitcher slots on our starting lineup card, but we have 5 additional slots for starting pitchers.

but we set lineups daily, so the SP slots are often empty, and people started figuring out that if they pitchers who qualify at SP but are pitching as RP then no matter how good they are it's like free points to slot them in to an empty SP slot.

which is why I have the SP/RP guys listed above.

okay? okay.

here's the trade I'm offered:

Send
Ryan Braun (LF)

Receive
Matt Holliday (LF)
Jose Contreras (SP/RP) has been reserve closer and gets lots of holds (I'd dropp Duensing)
Brian Fuentes (Closer) (I'd drop Gregorson)
[SHOW]
I declined this trade. I see Braun as a much better keeper than Holliday.

Then what's the point?

I guess it'd depend on if you want to win this year. There's always that mentality in keepers to want to win next year. Get the 6 best players possible and never let one go. If you were in first or second I would have taken it - cause Braun is better than Holliday, but Holliday isn't a bad consolation, and the closers really solidify your options.

I thought about it really hard.

I am in first place, or tied for it.

Cruz, Mike Stanton, Matt Cain and and a first rounder next year in a 6 player keeper for Utley.

Right now I"m looking at Wright, Longoria, Lester, Phillips and then two of McCann, Cruz, Choo.

Now it'd be Wright, Longoria, Utley, Lester, Choo, McCann. But I have Montero, so McCann and Phillips are expendable.

Any day of the week and twice on sunday right?
