Help me build a trade

Post by thrill »

I'm in a 10 Team - Point Per Reception Leage
Here's my roster:
QB Brees
RB Michael Turner
RB Portis
RB/WR Johnny Knox
WR Miles Austin
WR Dwayne Bowe
TE Antonio Gates
K Mason Crosby
D Dolphins
B Jay Cutler
B Mike Simms-Walker
B Percy Harvin
B Fred Jackson
B Darren Sproles
B Josh Freeman
B Saints

I'm 2-0, in second place, but I clearly have a depth problem. I'm trying to parlay Brees & Portis into two starting RB's. Another guy in the league needs a starting QB, and here are his RB's:

Jahvid Best
Arien Foster
Matt Forte
CJ Spiller
Ryan Matthews

Which two should I ask for in the Brees/Portis combo? As in, which two would be the fairest for both sides?

I rate Forte higher than Best going forward, anyone disagree?

I think you can trade that combo of Brees/Portis for Foster and Forte. If he says that's unfair, ask for Best instead of Foster.

I'd go for Forte. Mike Martz loves him some flexible RBs. Though considering I traded for Forte I may be a little biased.

Thanks. I agree btw. I just wanted validation from the GRB experts that I'm not taking crazy pills and Best/Forte or Foster/Forte is fair for Brees/Turner. This guy disagrees.

Even with Martz, I'd be a touch leery of relying on Cutler and Forte in your lineup each week.

Instead of starting a new thread,

I want to upgrade my TE, preferably with spare parts. Aiming for Finley.

I'm thinking of offering Tolbert, Clayton, Hernandez for Finley and the other team's garbage (B Lafell, G Tate).

Her team: (12 team league, 1 qb, 3 wr, 2 rb, 1 te, 1 k, 1 d)

QB: Romo, Smith
WR: D Jackson, Maclin, Aromashodu, Lafell, Tate
RB: Gore, Matthews, McFadden
TE: Finley, Miller

My team:

QB: Cutler, McNabb, Vick
WR: AJohnson, Wayne, Welker, Clayton, Floyd
RB: Peterson, Foster, McCoy, Tolbert
TE: Hernandez

While I'd be giving up spare parts, it would upgrade her WR3, give her a handcuff to Matthews and an adequate starting TE.

I'm not sure if I'm slightly overpaying or underpaying.

I'd think you'd able to get Finley for Tolbert straight up or at the very least just throwing in your TE. No need to include Clayton.

I agree with Thrill. Clayton has been really good so far and Matthews is out this week. She would want Tolbert as her back up option if Matthews is hurt again.
