Re: advice solicitation
Does anyone know if Carlos Gonzalez is going on the DL because of his sprained middle finger? I can only set my lineup once a week before games start.

From a fantasy perspective, I hate when teams try and nurse players along. Earning zeroes is not cool!

Re: advice solicitation
Should I pick up Jeter in place of A. Ramirez at SS?

Depends on if/where Alexei gets traded. Might want to chill on that decision for 2 more days.

Thanks, Mike. One more question, I've been offered Jose Fernandez for Yadi. This league does weight pitching pretty heavily. I could roll with Jason Castro.mikechamp wrote:Depends on if/where Alexei gets traded. Might want to chill on that decision for 2 more days.

Let's go back to SS for just a minute. My gut tells me to take Jeter over Alexei, but Jeter isn't going to do you any good if he's not playing. I would advise you to assess their respective playing time situations before taking action.
Which brings me to your current question. Yadi is out until 8/14 at the earliest. That's 10 days from now. If he returns then, which sounds non-definite, he'll be used less than he was to date. So while he is good, you won't be experiencing as much of the goodness. This Fernandez kid misses bats. Yeah, MIA has nothing to play for (besides pride), but they never did. If you feel you have a viable alternative, and your league dynamics favor pitching, I'd make that deal.

Ahh, I wanted to make the deal, but it was rescinded as I didn't act quickly enough! Darn it! I'm hoping I can resurrect the deal. I was concerned about Fernandez being shut down or having his innings severely limited the rest of the year.

That's a very legit concern to have. Harvey owners will face this in about 5 weeks.planet p wrote:Ahh, I wanted to make the deal, but it was rescinded as I didn't act quickly enough! Darn it! Might want to dig a little and see if they've publicly discussed his short-term future. MIA beat writer(s) would be the ones to research/ask.
