The only memory I have of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in school is that in the second grade we had one kid who was a Jehovah's Witness who sat at his desk while the rest of us did it. The 27th District Democrats recite the Pledge at the beginning of every meeting and we have one person who repeats "and justice for all" at the end. I find it annoying and think she is just drawing attention to herself.

Is her name Colleen Kaepernick?

MO State senator didnt stand for pledge in Jeff City today. I am guessing she isnt on on Rex Sinqeufield's payroll

Edit: i was wrong Jamilah Nasheed $2500 from Rex.

Hmmm public official -they probably should pledge every now and then. Peckehead Kinder took break from the strip club or whatever and using his expense acct to say it was poor example for young people.

I simply can't get past all of the support for mandating the pledge, when you consider the history of it.

You're cool with MLB right, in spite of its history of oppressing blacks?

I think we've got to get past some of this "history" stuff. That goes for those who cling to every word of the Constitution, as well. The meaning of things change as we go.

That's not a particularly good deal.

I think it's a great deal, and I'm one of the few here who like the pledge being in schools. That's how much I dislike the Dept. of Ed.

Don't be too surprised. He's not advocating for abolishing public education, just the federal government's involvement, which I can certainly sympathize with.

I think that the pledge being recited by people who can't understand it (and that's probably the majority of kids) is stupid and pointless at best, but, much as I'd like to get rid of it, I wouldn't make that trade in a million years.
