Good article. It should be pointed out that the entire banking sector is up about 10-15% I think since the election (which is huge) and it's not just Deutch bank.

Wells Fargo has gone from 45 something to 51 something.
Bank of America has gone from 17 to 19
JPMorgan 70 to 76.70

I have a vested interest in Wells Fargo stock. I hope it keeps going up.

Thanks Trump!

Kinda funny that Trump trashed Warren Buffett and he owns huge positions on Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Rich people win no matter which way the wind blows.

A guy I work with who used to work at Wells Fargo said the bank rise (and gold silver drop) likely indicates markets are betting on big rate hikes and inflation.

If true, it could not be more against his campaign platform. Take it fwiw.

I think it's also a bet that they will vastly deregulate banks. It ended so well last time we did that.

Sure, but that in itself does not explain the gold price decline from 1305 to 1260ish. I don't know much about this stuff, but it is my limited understanding that a decline in gold prices coupled with a jump in bank stocks points to an expected rate hike. Something will have to happen as well, warranting the hike. Speculators see a boom in infrastructure spending or something like that to be the stimulus....

Could be wrong on all this stuff.

Donald Trump Doesn't Like This Any More Than You Do
Quote:
Donald Trump does not want to be the president.

Donald Trump likes going to rallies. He likes hearing people scream his name in ecstasy while calling for the imprisonment and death of his enemies. He likes going on TV. He likes hearing about how high the ratings were after he goes on TV. He likes grabbing women by the [expletive] and moving on them “like a [expletive].”

What Donald Trump does not like, however, is keeping his promises, sitting still for more than five minutes at a time, or doing any kind of work whatsoever, tedious or otherwise. It’s probably why so many of his business ventures were spectacular, blistering failures over the years.

But unfortunately for Donald Trump and everyone else in the world save Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump is about to be the president. And as miserable as it is for us, there is one small, saving grace amidst the despair: Donald Trump looks like he wants to die.

This is a terrible editorial. http://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/2016 ... story.html

We've also entered the post-"deficits matter" era.
