You don't counter bat [expletive] crazy with bat [expletive] crazy of your own. You lose control of the situation and look bad in the process.

Yep. Since Trump has no credibility, North Korea will keep pushing the envelope to test him

Normalize relations and let Ambassador Rodman work his magic

Do you know why the deal between the US and North Korea didn't work?

Seriously, this should be good.

In case anyone was wondering:

No one can stop President Trump from using nuclear weapons. That’s by design.

Quote:
Now they’re his. When Trump takes office in January, he will have sole authority over more than 7,000 warheads. There is no failsafe. The whole point of U.S. nuclear weapons control is to make sure that the president — and only the president — can use them if and whenever he decides to do so. The one sure way to keep President Trump from launching a nuclear attack, under the system we’ve had in place since the early Cold War, would have been to elect someone else.

That's not entirely true, the sec of defense has to authenticate the order.

The Secretary of Defense is a raging psychopath nicknamed "Mad Dog" who is already responsible for incinerating thousands of people.

Korea govt is annhilated quickly and a Chinese or somewhat levelheaded regime takes over. I have no idea how possible that is but I'd imagine we'd find out rather quickly if they hit Guam with a missile.

Also, no idea how trump responded but it was probably loudly and well angrily like.

I am not sure what idiot Trump said. His chatter is all random impulsive self serving garbarge.

For me, the problem is we put US geopolitics to the whims of a narcissist toddler, who is not much unlike Kim Jong UN... We may have war with N Korea, we may have a twitter feud with Rosie Odonell. Who knows?

Trump's evangelical adviser: ‘God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un.'

Quote:
Texas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump’s evangelical advisers who preached the morning of his inauguration, has released a statement saying the president has the moral authority to take out North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“When it comes to how we should deal with evil doers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil,” Jeffress said. “In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un.”

Quote:
The biblical passage Romans 13 gives the government authority to deal with evildoers, Jeffress said. “That gives the government to the authority to do whatever, whether it’s assassination, capital punishment or evil punishment to quell the actions of evildoers like Kim Jong Un,” he said.

He said that many pacifist Christians will cite Romans 12, which says, “Do not repay evil for evil,” but Jeffress says that that passage is referring to Christians, not to the government.

“A Christian writer asked me, ‘Don’t you want the president to embody the Sermon on the Mount?’ ” he said, referring to Jesus’s famous sermon. “I said absolutely not.”

In his sermon on the morning of Trump’s inauguration, Jeffress, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, compared Trump to the story of the biblical leader Nehemiah who helped rebuild the city of Jerusalem.

The first step of rebuilding the nation, Jeffress said, was the building of a wall around Jerusalem to protect its citizens. “You see, God is not against building walls,” Jeffress said in his sermon at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington.

Two bat [expletive] crazy guys in a duel. Their weapons are little red buttons and mushroom clouds.

The important stuff. We'll be cleaning up the nuclear fallout and Republicans will be talking about how we can't elect Democrats anymore because this is what happens. Then someone at GRB will give a pop quiz.

Pod Save the World released a podcast yesterday outlining why Trump's NK statements are so dangerous. The host is Tommy Vietor, who was on the National Security Council. He speaks with former Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes. It's a 15 min listen.

The rest of the podcast Vietor interviews Bill Browder, who was the main driver of the Russian Magnitsky Act sanctions. I posted about Browder here.

I'm fairly new to the podcast, but the few that I've listened to have been pretty good.
