A gunman kills 5 people in California before taking his own life, police say
Quote:
A man killed his wife and four other people in shootings across three locations Wednesday evening near Bakersfield, California, before killing himself as a sheriff's deputy confronted him, authorities said.

The crime spree took roughly 15 minutes, and investigators are trying to figure out why the man went on the rampage, Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood said.

"I'm certainly speculating right now ... but I'm pretty comfortable that there will be a connection between all these players," Youngblood said at a news conference late Wednesday.

I didn't hear a thing about this until now

Single-digit death toll, not newsworthy these days.

Three mass shootings in the last 24 hours. Carry on.

The 3 that Joe was referring to were all workplace mass shootings, which is pretty shocking. The Chicago one happened in the street and 4 people were shot but none have died yet. But some are in critical condition including a baby and a kid. It still counts as a mass shooting in my book.

Workplace Mass Shooting in Maryland Is the Third in Just 24 Hours

9 wounded, including baby boy, in Wednesday shootings

The other 5 people that were shot in Chicago were separate incidents that happened in various other places around the city.

That's crazy. What is amazing to me is how calm everyone is there.

Had a 4-year old, locally, shoot his dad in the arm. Apparently the dad set the loaded pistol down on the seat of his car, and the kids grabbed it an pulled the trigger. They're calling it a "freak accident", but I call it an irresponsible adult. Now I'm seeing people suggest that we teach firearm safety to 4-year olds. Yeah, we can't teach an adult to keep a gun away from a child, but we're supposed to teach a 4-year old how to safely handle a gun?

The logic of the gun crowd is so backwards. They just go further and further down the rabbit hole, rather the look up and try to get back to sunlight.
