Maybe they'll find something bad in his history as a sheriff - like illegal/racist practices and contempt of court etc

Unless he is a pedophile he's probably going to win. I mean hell a pedophile almost won.

You're on the wrong track here. You want them to find something bad like being a member of the Sierra Club, participation in Oprah's book club, and contributions to his local PBS station. THAT would finish him.

Remember when not reporting your housekeeper to the IRS was a disqualification for public service? Like, a guy would be a front runner for office but have to drop out when he got caught not paying payroll taxes for the maid. Cabinet secretaries would get busted for it and have to resign. That was just not acceptable behavior for a public servant.

How far we've fallen.

Once upon a time, Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm before becoming President so as to avoid even the appearance of any potential conflict of interest.

Wouldn't want to charge the American people outrageous sums of money for peanuts at the White House.

Or allow foreign officials undue access to the oval buy purchasing peanuts for outrageous, unsubstantiated prices.

My Limbaugh-listening father-in-law once defended the nepotism of Jared Kushner and the bat [expletive] crazy unethical Carl Icahn having a WH position....because they are/were working for "free".
