Here's an interesting read. Probably more so if you're heyzeus, but for us non-lawyers, it's still not bad.

Supreme Court case could strengthen Trump's pardon power

Quote:
Thursday the Supreme Court will consider whether (a) pair of convictions and punishments by state and federal governments is unconstitutional.

Just because they didn't score in the top of the 1st inning doesn't mean they've lost.

At issue is not whether states can provide federal funding for abortion. Instead, the case concerned whether they can block Medicaid funds from offices that provide such women with annual health screens, contraceptive coverage and cancer screening

Not sure of a premise were they could take and decide against that case. It wasnt the Holy Grail, and even if it were - the politicians wouldn't give it up

Suppose this case was heard and decided against PP. Politicians essentially would be able to make PP clinics extinct, by making them ineligible to receive Medicaid patients.

Inherently, it would also mean politicians get to pick which clinics meet their non-health political standards for women.

It wasn't really a case, but more of a vendetta against PP. The end result would be less access to female health options for women, possible more single pregnancies etc etc.

Kind of a no-brainer for Kavanaugh, and saved the right-wing court some embarrassment.

And the next thing you know, women on Medicaid (and men probably) would only be able to go to a single for profit provider that is sanctioned by the government after a series of bribes and kickbacks to the politicians.
